Work is going by at a snails pace today. I have finished all that is needed for today and am now trying desperatly to keep myself busy by organizing our fabric library. i am bored nearly to tears. I would rather be home sewing but that is an impossiblity right now.
I have just started a wall hanging for my new neice or nephew. They will be here in early June. I am very excited. The wall hanging is oceaned themed, by my sisters request. I am apliqueing each letter of the alphabet along with something from the sea that begins with the letter on to individual squres which will then be sewn together to make up the completed wall hanging.
I have something sea oriented for every letter except I, Q, V, X, Y, Z. Does anyone have any suggestions for these letters? Please let me know!

May has started and I have been busy cleaning and sewing this weekend. It feels good to get things organized or at least attempt to get things organized. I am not one known to ever be very organized....
Some projects from the weekend...
Set of 4 coasters which are now for sale on my and my friend Andy's esty shop, dragonkite.
new eskimo pillow with pink and yellow and black, delicious.
I also spent some time with Madeleine Jean on saturday playing with my little pony and running around. She is most definetly the coolest person I know. She likes wearing dresses, the color purple, and obviously frogs....
more later.

It appears that winter may finally behind us. Yesterday was sunny and warm and although today is rainy and grey I am hopful for the sun tomorrow. I have a busy weekend but hope to save sometime for sewing and such. Below are some new things I have made. Some of these things I have put up for sale on etsy. The seller name is dragonkite, if you would like to take a look.
I have started reading Joan Didion's "the last thing he ever wanted" I am reminded how much I love her as a writer. The way she writes gets under my skin, I seem to absorb it like a sponge. I urge anyone how hasn't read her to go to your local library and, quite literally, check her out. She brings joy and I am doubtful you would be disapointed. I give you an excerpt from the first page of "a book of common prayer" to tempt you.
I will be her witness.
That would translate 'sere su testigo', and will not appear in your travelers' handbook because it is not a useful phrase for the prudent traveler.
Here is what happened: she left one man, she left a second man, she traveled again with the first; she died alone. She lost one child to "history" and another to "complications" (I offer in each instance the evaluation of others), she imagined herself capable of shedding that baggage and came to Boca Grande a tourist, Una Turista. So she said. In fact she came here less a tourist then a sojourner but she did not make that distinction.
She made not enough distinctions.
She dreamed her life.
She died, hopeful. In summary. So you know the story. Of course the story had extnuating circumstances, weather, cracked sidewalks and paregorina, but only for the living.
Charolette would call her story one of passion. I believe I would call it one of delusion......

Hello all. My friend Andy and I recently started a shop on Etsy. Our shop name is dragonkite. It will carry an assortment of things we have made, from original artworks, to t-shirts, to pillows. I invite you all to check it out. We welcome the feedback.

Right now in New England it feels like spring may never come. Winter started early this year and is still going strong. When I went out to start my car this morning it was 7 degrees. How lonely that one digit temp. looked sitting there on my dashbaord so matter of fact. I wanted to go immedietly back inside and crawl under my 5 blankets and forget about the day. I didn't and instead started my journey to work where I heard on the radio that we are expecting another 6-8 inches late tonight and into saturday. That just doesn't seem fair and I am sure it will not be the last storm before the spring blesses us with its presence. Spring is coming I have to remind myself on days like this. It is only a few short weeks away. So I am going to pull up my wool socks and lace up my boots and brave the last of this winter season with hopes of sunny days and blooming trees ahead.
Things that are bringing me joy today...
The hot cup of coffee i am drinking right now.
Knowing that work will not be to stressful today.
The jaunt of Jacques Henri Lartigue's photographs, included below.
And the sun.
